Opinions About Turkey’s Fullmembership to European Union in Poland

Poland which became a fullmember of the EU on May 1, 2004, is one of the most important countries of Eastern Europe. During the Cold War, Poland was influenced by the Eastern Bloc and its ideology, and after the end of the Cold War, Poland wanted to adopt a Parliamentarian structure and wanted to integrate with the Western system. In this context, Poland, which started to develop its relations with the EU, began negotiations with the EU at the Luxembourg Summit in 1997 and became a full member of the EU in 2004. As an EU member state, Poland has supported the enlargement process of the EU, and if it is too difficult, it should continue this process without stoping to negotiations. In general, although Poland supports Turkey's full membership process to the EU, many different people and groups such as political parties, media, industrialists in Poland have different opinions about this issue. In this context, we will try to assess why Poland supports Turkey's EU accession process and what it expects from this relationship.
