Framework in the news of Tekel movements: Example of Turkish newspapers

One of the matters frequently emphasized in research about communication is the presentation manner of the events concerning the majority of society and followed intensely by most people in visual and printed media. One of the methods used in recent years towards the presentation manner of news in visual and printed media is the framing analysis. Framing analysis is a method principally trying to reveal by which frames the news presented in media is introduced. However, in this study, the presentation manner of action largely appearing on the agenda of Turkey and realized by Tekel workers is analyzed by the framing method. As a result of this analysis, similarities and differences have been found in news frames of the newspapers. In this study, it is determined that similarities in news frames are based on commercial concerns and similarities of resources from which news is obtained; however, differences in frames stem from the different ideologies of the newspapers.
