Opinions of teachers about in-service training and interactive boards used in fatih project
In this study, teachers opinions on in-service training and the interacti- ve boards which were established in the secondary education institutions in the implementation phase of Movement of Enhancing Opportunities and Improving Technology (FATİH) project were examined. The schools in the cen- ter of Nigde, where the interactive boards were established and the interactive white boards were used actively by the teachers in fall semester of the 2013-2014 educational year, were selected. 16 teachers from different subject areas were selected as a research working group. Data was collected through semi-structu- red interview which is qualitative data collection technique. In the analysis of data, content analysis technique was used. According to the results obtained, the teachers stated that the in-service training was very useful for learning how to use the interactive board but they also stated that it was insufficient. The teac- hers have stated that they couldn t develop instructional materials and the subs- tructure of instructional materials is inadequate. The teachers also pointed out that they used different kind of teaching methods together with the interactive board. In addition, the teachers have expressed that the interactive boards pro- vide many benefits for themselves, have positive impacts on learning, ease the instruction of the lesson, save time, take the interest of students, motivate stu- dents and address to different kind of senses. Course preparation s taking long time, insufficient instructional materials, health problems, internet connection and technical problems were also reported by the teachers as limitations of inte- ractive boards. At the end of the study, based on the results, some suggestions were presented.
