Matematik eğitimin önemli bir öğesidir. Dil ise iletişim sağlamak için kullandığımız en önemli araçlardan biridir. Özellikle ilköğretimin ilk kademesindeki öğrencilerde dilin gelişimi sırasında matematik kavramlarının öğretilmesi ayrıca önem taşımaktadır. Bu da ilköğretim öğretmenlerinin matematik dersinde dili nasıl kullandıkları ile yakından ilişkilidir. Bu araştırmada, ilköğretim matematik öğretmen adaylarının matematik öğretiminde dile ilişkin görüşlerinin değerlendirilebileceği 'Matematik Öğretiminde Dil' ölçeğinin faktör yapıları oluşturulmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri Hacettepe Üniversitesi İlköğretim Bölümünde okuyan öğrencilerden elde edilmiştir. Ölçekte dört anlamlı boyut saptanmış ve bu boyutlar adlandırılmıştır.

Mathematics is an important element of education. Language, on the other hand, is one of the most important tools we use for communicating. Besides, teaching Mathematical concepts during the Language development in students at the first level of elementary education bears a special importance. This in turn is closely related to how the elementary school teachers use Language in Mathematics courses. In this research, it has been tried to form factor structures for the ' Language in Mathematics Teaching ' scale to be used for evaluating the pre-service elementary school mathematics teachers' opinions about Language in Mathematics teaching. The research data have been obtained from students of the Department of Elementary Education in the Hacettepe University. Four meaningful dimensions were obtained from this scale.
