The Life of Imam Agzam Abu Hanifa, and the Foundations of the Theological Views and Principles of Him Regarding Tradition and Customs

The article examines the special place of Imam Agzam Abu Hanifa in the Muslim world, the founder of the Hanafi madhhab which is a theological school that has been dominant in Central Asia for centuries. Along with a brief review of his life, the article also contains scientific conclusions regarding the environment, which influenced the formation of Abu Hanifa as a religious person, especially those influencing his theological views of the Ulema of Kufa and the theological school of Ahl al-Rai. The presence of local social, economic, cultural backgrounds, and the methodology of judging in accordance with traditions and customs, stimulated the very widespread dissemination of this madhhab in the world. Based on this, the study reflects ideas and judgments about the role and place of customs and traditions in the theological views of Imam Agzam Abu Hanifa, as well as on measures for making the Shariah decision in accordance with customs and traditions in the Hanafi madhhab.
