Duplication cysts of the cecum and duodenum in an infant: A rare case report

Enterik duplikasyon kisti (EDC) ağızdan anüse kadar uzanan gastrointestinal sistemin herhangi bir yerinden kaynaklanan nadir bir konjenital anomalidir. EDC en sık ileumda görülür. Klinik bulgular; duplikasyon kistinin boyutuna, tipine ve bulunduğu bölgeye göre farklılık gösterir. Burada fışkırır tarzda kusma ve batın distansiyonu ile gelen, çekal ve duodenal duplikasyon kisti tanısı konan term bir yenidoğan olgusu sunulmuştur. Bilgilerimize göre literatürde daha önce böyle bir birliktelik yayınlanmamıştır.

Enteric duplication cyst (EDC) is a rare congenital anomaly that may occur anywhere along the length of the alimentary tract from the mouth down to the anus. Ileum is the most common site of occurrence in overall of gastrointestinal tract. Clinical manifestations of EDC are variable, and are determined by the tip, site, and size of the duplication. In this report we describe a fullterm infant who presented bilious vomiting and abdominal distension; the infant was diagnosed cecal and duodenal cyst. To our knowledge, these combinations have not been described previously in the literature.
