A Qualitative Analysis on Green Strategies and Applications: The Case of Turkey

Green businesses avoid activities that can harm people and nature. They create sustainable value in social and environmental areas by taking into account human and environment as well as their economic priorities. In this study, green practices of businesses with sustainability understanding are discussed. In addition, based on these applications, it is aimed to reach the basic codes describing the green space and to create common themes that describe the field with the help of these codes. Within the scope of this qualitative research, which is carried out as a case study, medium and senior managers of six large-scale companies carrying out production activities in different sectors (automotive, chemistry, construction, fast consumption and iron-and-steel sectors) were interviewed, observations were made and many documents belonging to companies were examined. In this context, many examples of green good practices have been identified in the field. Based on these examples, basic codes that are related to each other and describe the green area have been reached and these codes have been collected under certain themes. Thus, a general topography of the green applications area has been created.
