THOUGHTS ABOUT THE COMPLEMENT CLAUSE SUBJECT BEING ASSIGNED WITH GENITIVE CASE IN QARAKHANID TURKIC

In this study, it will be analyzed that the inner clause subject is assigned with genitive case in Qarakhanid Turkic, which is a period of Turkish language, Middle Turkish. Qarakhanid Turks founded a state centered in Kashgar as one of the ancient Turkish civilizations Uighurs was separated into two after the invasion of Kyrgyz in the year 840. Qarakhanids were converted to Islam in 960 under the leadership of Saltuk Buğra Han. With this aspect, they became the first Turkish state having adopted Islam in history. Qarakhanid Turkic is classified as “Middle Turkic” and “Joint Central Asia Literally Language”. It was used between 11th and 13th centuries which. In Modern Turkish, the assignment of inner clause subject is made by the head modifier, whereas it is made by the determiner head in Dagur and Modern Uighur –belong to East Turkish. Genitive case assignment in Old Turkic, similar to Modern Turkish and Eastern Turkish is made by both C0 and D0. According to this classification made by Miyagawa (2008), it will be analyzed in this study whether Qarakhanid is a C-licensing or a D-licensing language. Furthermore, the state of the inner clause subject being assigned with genitive case in Qarakhanid will be compared with genitive case assignments in Old Turkic, Modern Turkish, Old Anatolian Turkish, and Modern Uigur.
