MESLEK YÜKSEKOKULU ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN SAĞLIK İLE İLGİLİ KONULARDA İNTERNET KULLANIMI HAKKINDA BİR ARAŞTIRMA

İnternet ve sosyal medya, son yıllarda hem bireyler hem de işletmeler açısından önemli bir araç halini almıştır. Bireyler diğer kişilerle iletişim kurmak, deneyim paylaşımı, yorum yapma amacıyla; işletmeler ise hedef gruplara erişmek, müşterilerle iletişim kurmak için bu mecraları kullanmaktadır. Sosyal medya ayrıca işletmeler ve bireyler arasındaki iletişimin doğasını da tek yönlü ve interaktif olarak değiştirmiştir. Pek çok çalışmada internet ve dolayısıyla sosyal medyanın sağlık bilgisi arama davranışında önemli olduğu ve özellikle üniversite öğrencileri arasında yaygın şekilde kullanıldığı belirtilmiştir. Bu çalışma, genç nüfusun çevrimiçi sağlık bilgisi arama davranışlarını belirlemek amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tanımlayıcı nitelikte olan bu çalışma, 2015 yılında final sınavına giren öğrencilere uygulanan anket yoluyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada PEW Araştırma Merkezinin ‘Health Tracking Survey’ soruları Türkçeleştirilerek kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evreninin Gazi Üniversitesi Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksekokulu ve Trakya Üniversitesi Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksekokulunun öğrencileri oluşturmuştur. Toplam 506 anket değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Toplanan verilerin analizi sonucunda yüzde ve frekans dağılımları hesaplanmıştır. Kategorik verilerin karşılaştırılmasında ise Ki-Kare testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; katılımcıların %55,9’u internet üzerinde hastalık ve tıbbi problemler ile ilgili bilgi ararken, %81,8’i de bu aramaları en sık Google, Bing, Yahoo gibi arama motorları aracılığıyla gerçekleştirdiğini ifade etmiştir. Ayrıca katılımcıların %15,4’ü fiziksel aktivite, %5,7’si de adet döngüsü takibi gibi konularda mobil uygulamaları indirdikleri saptanmıştır. İnternet ve sosyal medya aracılığı ile güvenilir ve doğru sağlık bilgisine ulaşılması için sağlık işletmeleri tarafından gerekli stratejilerin gerçekleştirilmesi fayda sağlayacaktır.

A STUDY ABOUT THE INTERNET USE OF VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FOR HEALTH ISSUES

In the last decade, İnternet and social media have become a phenomenon for both individuals and business. While individuals are using social media for interacting with others, expanding networks, sharing experiences and making comments, organizations began to use social media in order to reach target groups, interact with clients and promote products and services. Also, social media has changed the nature of the communication between the organizations and the clients. In many academic researches, it is found that internet and social media are mostly used for health information seeking and the use of social media is more popular for the university students. The aim of this study is to determine the online health information seeking behavior of university students. Also, the study was designed as a descriptive research and the survey method was used to collect data in January 2015 among voluntary students during their final examinations. The survey was developed on PEW Research Centre’s Health Tracking Survey which was implemented in USA at 2012. The study’s sample consisted of 506 students who are the studying at Vocational High School of Health Services in Gazi University and Trakya University. The data obtained from the questionnaires were coded and computerized by the researchers, and, the frequency and percentage distributions were calculated.
