ÖĞRETİM ELEMANLARININ SINIF İÇİNDE KARŞILAŞTIKLARI İSTENMEYEN DAVRANIŞLAR
Öğrenme ile ilgili kazanımlara ulaşmayı engelleyici istenmeyen öğrenci davranışlarının sıklığının belirlenmesi ve bunların ortadan kaldırılmasına yönelik çözüm önerilerinin ortaya konması, öğrenme kalitesini ve verimliliği artırmak için son derece önemlidir. Alan yazın incelendiğinde istenmeyen davranışlara yönelik yapılan araştırmaların genellikle ilköğretim ve lise düzeyinde olduğu, yükseköğretim düzeyindeki çalışmaların sınırlı olduğu görülmektedir. Bu araştırmada, üniversite öğretim üyelerinin öğrenme öğretme sürecinde sınıf içinde karşılaştıkları istenmeyen davranışların sıklığı ve bu davranışlar karşısında rahatsız olma düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu yönüyle ilgili alan yazına katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir. Araştırmada betimsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Veriler 2016-2017 eğitim-öğretim yılında Düzce Üniversitesinde görev yapmakta olan toplam 122 öğretim elemanından toplanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından uzman görüşleri alınarak geliştirilen İstenmeyen Davranışların Belirlenmesi Anketi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucu elde edilen bulgulara göre; öğretim elemanlarının en sık karşılaştıkları istenmeyen davranışlar arasında; derste cep telefonu veya tabletle ders dışı internet sitelerine girmek, cep telefonu ile mesajlaşmak, izin almadan sınıfa girip çıkmak, derse yeterince dikkatini vermemek, ödevi zamanında getirmemek, ödev ve araştırmalarında bilgi hırsızlığı yapmak ve derse hazırlıksız gelmek yer almaktadır. Öğretim elemanlarını en çok rahatsız eden istenmeyen davranışlar olarak; derste cep telefonu ile konuşmak, cep telefonu veya tabletle ders dışı internet sitelerine girmek, derse yeterince dikkatini vermemek, rahatsız edici bir şekilde sakız çiğnemek, sınıf arkadaşlarının görüşleri ile ilgili alaycı ve küçümseyici davranmak, siyasi ve dini vb propaganda yapmak olarak sıralanabilir.
UNDESIRABLE BEHAVIORS IN THE CLASSROOM FACED BY THE LECTURERS IN HIGHER EDUCATION
Determining the frequency of students’ disruptive behaviors that prevent to reach learning outcomes and suggesting solutions to eliminate those are crucial to improve learning quality and efficiency. When the literature is examined, it is seen that the studies related with the disruptive behaviors are generally conducted in primary and high school level and the studies at the higher education level are quite limited. In this research, it was aimed to determine the frequency and the degree of disturbance level of the disruptive behaviors encountered in the class during the teaching and learning process by university lecturers. It is thought that with this perspective it will contribute to the literature. Descriptive survey model was used in the study. The data were collected from a total of 122 lecturers who worked at Düzce University during the academic year of 2016-2017. According to the findings of the research, among the most common disruptive behaviors faced by the instructors can be listed as follows; using mobile phone or tablet to enter the internet for extracurricular activities, messaging with mobile phone, entering and leaving the class without permission, not giving enough attention to the lesson, not bringing homework on time, plagiarism in projects and research, and coming to the class without preparation. As the disruptive behaviors which disturb the lecturers most can be listed as follows; talking with mobile phone during class, using mobile phones or tablets to connect internet for extracurricular activities, not paying enough attention to the lesson, chewing gum in a distracting manner, to be sarcastic and sardonic about the opinions of classmates, to make political, religious, etc. propaganda.
