BİRLEŞTİRİLMİŞ SINIFLARDA GÖREV YAPAN ÖĞRETMENLERİN SES TEMELLİ CÜMLE YÖNTEMİNİN UYGULANMASINDA YAŞAMIŞ OLDUKLARI SORUNLARA VE ÇÖZÜM ÖNERİLERİNE YÖNELİK GÖRÜŞLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ (NİTEL BİR ARAŞTIRMA)

Bu çalışmanın amacı, birleştirilmiş sınıflarda görev yapan sınıf öğretmenlerinin ses temelli cümle yöntemi (STCY) ile ilgili yaşamış oldukları sorunları ve bu sorunlara dayalı olarak geliştirmiş oldukları çözüm önerilerini belirlemektir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma modeli ve nitel araştırma desenlerinden biri olan olgubilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya Elazığ/Karakoçan ve Sivrice ilçelerinde görev yapan toplam yirmi iki birleştirilmiş sınıf öğretmeni katılmıştır. Araştırmada veriler açık-uçlu sorulardan oluşan anket formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Araştırma, ses temelli cümle yöntemi ile ilgili olarak "ses temelli cümle yönteminde ve bitişik eğik yazı öğretiminde karşılaşılan sorunlar ve bu sorunlara dayalı olarak geliştirilen çözüm önerileri" kategorileri etrafında oluşturulmuştur. Verilerin analizinde nitel veri analizlerinden biri olan betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre birleştirilmiş sınıflarda görev yapan öğretmenlerin; ses temelli cümle yönteminde öğrencilerin okuduklarını anlamada, hece, kelime ve cümle oluşturmada ve öğretmenli derslerin yetersiz olmasında; bitişik eğik yazının öğretiminde ise öğrencilerin okunaklı yazamadıkları ve yazılarının estetik olmadığı gibi sorunlarla karşılaştıkları ortaya çıkmıştır. Katılımcılar, ses temelli cümle yönteminde karşılaşmış oldukları sorunlara benzer çözüm önerileri geliştirmişlerdir. Son olarak da araştırma sonucunda ortaya çıkan bulgulara dayalı olarak; ses temelli cümle yöntemi ile ilgili öğretmenlere hizmetiçi eğitim verilmeli, bu okullarda ilkokuma-yazma öğretiminde kullanılabilecek araçgereçler temin edilmeli gibi öneriler geliştirilmiştir

INVESTIGATION OF THE OPINIONS OF THE TEACHERS WORKING IN MULTIGRADE CLASSROOMS RELATED TO PROBLEMS THAT THEY HAVE ENCOUNTERED ON IMPLEMENTATION OF SOUND-BASED SENTENCE METHOD AND THEIR PROPOSALS FOR SOLUTIONS (A QUALITATIVE RESEARCH)

The purpose of this study is to determine the problems encountered by the classroom teachers working in multigrade classrooms related to Sound-Based Sentence Method (PBSM) and their proposals for solutions which they developed based on the problems.The qualitative research model and Phenomenology design which is one of the quantitative research designs have been used. Totally 22 multigrade class teachers who hold posts in Karakoçan and Sivrice districts of Elazığ province participated in the research. The data in the research is collected by using survey form comprised of open-ended questions. The research is formed around the categories of “ the problems experienced in phoneme-based sentence method and cursive script teaching and solution suggestions developed on the basis of these questions” in regard with phoneme-based sentence method. Descriptive analysis has used in the analysis of data. According to the findings it is found out that teachers working in multigrade classrooms face problems in phoneme-based sentence method such as students have difficulties in reading comprehension, they are unable to form syllable, words and sentences, efficiency of classes with teachers, students are not able to qrite legible in cursive script and their scripts are not aesthetical. Participators have developed solution suggestions alike the problems they face in phoneme-based sentence method. Finally, based on the findings appeared in the research, some suggestions have been given such as in-service trainings should be given to the teachers in regard with phoneme-based sentence method and equipment should be supplied for literacy teaching
