Eğitim, çağın koşullarına uyum sağlamak için çeşitli bilgi ve becerilerle donanmış, iyi ve nitelikli bir nesiller yetiştirme gibi genel amaçlarının yanında, sevgi, işbirliği, güven, hoşgörü, anlayış, saygı, dürüstlük gibi değerleri kazandırma görevini de barındıran geniş bir yelpazeye sahiptir. Sınıf ortamında verilecek değerler eğitimi ile toplumu oluşturan bireylere, nelerin önemli ve tercih edilebilir olduğu ve nasıl yaşanılması gerektiğinin belirtilmesi toplumsal düzenin, kültürün devamı açısından oldukça önemlidir. Öğrenciler, eğitim sayesinde doğru ve yanlışı seçmeyi öğrenmekte, buna bağlı olarak da ne kadar nitelikli eğitim alırlarsa da doğru seçimler yapmayı başarabilecek duruma gelmektedirler. Öğrencilerin tutumlarını, inançlarını, önceliklerini ve davranışlarının ölçütlerini belirlemelerinde benimsedikleri değerlerin etkisi oldukça büyüktür. Sınıf yönetimi ise özellikle kuralları oluşturma boyutunda, öğrencilerin sınıf iklimi içerisinde temel, evrensel değerleri kazanması ve kendi değerlerini ortaya çıkarma fırsatı sunması, ayrıca öğrenme için zemin oluşması açısından önemlidir. Bu yönden öğretmenlere, öğrencilerine sınıf içi kuralları kazandırmayı planladıkları ilk andan itibaren kurallar ile değerler arasındaki ilişkiyi perçinleyebilecekleri, uygulanabilir modeller sunmak gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada genel hatlarıyla, eğitim sistemimizde ve değerler eğitiminde benimsenen yaklaşım ve yöntemler, çağdaş sınıf içi disiplin modelleri ve öğretmenin rolü üzerinde durulmaktadır. Bu yaklaşım, yöntem ve modellerden hareketle, öğrencilerin davranışlarındaki ölçütlerin belirlenmesi ve değerlerin kazandırılması amacıyla teoriden uygulamaya, öğretmenin hangi tutum ve davranışları benimseyerek öğrencilerini yönlendirebileceğini sunan etkili bir öğretmen modeli önerilmektedir. Education has general purposes on improving qualified, capable and profound progenies as well as internalizing general vaules like, love, respect, honesty, tolerance, trust and cooperation. Clasroom atmosphere and teachers are important factors for giving basic skills in improving and maintaining social and cultural ordination. Especially students can learn how to choose correct behaviours and how to live a decent life by suitable values education programs. The appropritate educational programs and qualified teachers could easily help students to became succesful and decent citizens. Generally students’ attitudes, beliefs, priorities and behaviours can be affected by values. In classroom managemnet, settting the classroom rules according to basic and universal values, giving opportunities for students, for gaining these values are important. Teachers, as the main role model in students’ life, have a crucial role on gaining their students’ universal values inside classroom on daily basis. Therefore, we need to give applicable implications for teachers to unitizing classroom rules and values. This study, generally, focused on approaches and methods on values education in our education system, modern classroom discipline models and the role of teachers as well. Mainly the paper implicate for reinforcing students positive behaviours and gaining them universal values via effective classroom management models. explained for teachers. And some strategies for setting classroom rules and also the approaches for a constructivist values education were given in the paper. All of these classroom management models and approaches are seen as an opportunity and key factors for stabilizing the universal values inside the classroom and after that outside the whole world. Recent research about classroom management reflected the positive correlation between teachers’ management styles and their attitudes to democratic community values such as respect, indulgence, tolerance and responsibility. These kind of findings indicated that teachers’ attitudes towards values have an enormous impact on their classroom management styles. Actually, teachers’ attitudes and beliefs towards values also could affect their responses to some problematic events in real life and also inside classroom. The atmosphere inside the classroom is an important component in classroom management. The research also indicated that, teachers’ abilities for setting a safe, democratic, caring and honored classroom atmosphere is important in effective classroom management and giving meaningful values to their students. Supportive teacher behaviors have an important impact on their students’ perceptions about universal values in both classroom life as well as daily life. In this process daily classroom rules and routines can also be used as a tool. In daily life and at school rules are the key points for a democratic and caring classroom atmosphere. Students can learn to behave in good manners and can feel the group togetherness. Teachers role in setting the classroom rules ara also important for maintaining a peaceful environment. Teachers have to use different kinds of management techniques and models in both setting the rules and for being a role model for their students. Present paper implied the classroom management models correlated with universal values. In “assertive discipline model” the values of respect, empathy, kindness and responsibility can be fostered. In “reality therapy model”; self esteem, respect, indulgence, sensitivity, responsibility, empathy and tolerance can be fostered. In “rational consequences model”, love, respect, mercy, empathy, friendship, kindness, optimism and freewill can be fostered. The “teacher effectiveness model” can foster the values such as; honesty, responsibility, self esteem, hard working, willingness and freewill. Everyday teachers can face difficult problems in classrooms with their students and classroom management models are important for healthy relationships inside the classroom with the teacher and students. Teachers could build a strong recognition for values in their students by using basic models in daily classroom problems. They have to use some important strategies inside the classroom and by these approaches they can construct a mind full classroom atmosphere and educate qualified students and in long term they can maintain a peaceful and happy
