ESKİ ÇAĞDA MEZOPOTAMYA’DAN ANTİK YUNAN’A SALGIN TANRILARI’NIN KONUMLARI VE EVRİMLERİ

Modern insan için oldukça şaşırtıcı bir durum olsa da salgınlar tarihin her döneminde görülen sıradan olaylardır. Modern insan beklemediği Covid-19 salgınıyla sağlık ve ekonomik kaygıların yarıştığı bir süreçle karşı karşıya kalmıştır. Öyle görülüyor ki modern insan için ekonomik kaygılar sağlık sorunlarından daha ağır basmaktadır. Salgın hızla yayılsa da ticaret ve üretim döngüsünün normalleşmeye erken başladığına şahit olmaktayız. Eski çağda da insanlık salgınlar görmüştü. Bu durum onlar için de aynı mıydı? Eski çağ insanı yaşadığı her süreci tanrılara bağlamaktaydı. Eski çağ insanı yetkin tanrılarını panteonlarda önem sırasına göre yerleştirmişti. Bu çalışmada eski çağ inanç dünyasında salgın ve şifa tanrılarının bereket ve ekonomi tanrılarından bir adım geride olduğu görülmektedir.

The Positions and Evolutions of the Gods of the Epidemic in Ancient Time from Mesopotamia to Ancient Greece

Although epidemics are quite a surprising situation for modern humans, they are ordinary events seen in every period of history. With this epidemic that modern people did not expect, they faced a process where health and economic concerns competed. It seems that economic concerns outweigh health problems from modern human. Although the epidemic spreads rapidly, we witness that the trade and production cycle begins to normalize early. Humanity had seen epidemics in ancient times, too. Was this condition same for them? Ancient time man ascribed to the gods every process he lived. Ancient time man placed his competent gods according to importance order in the pantheons. In this study, it is seen that the gods of epidemic and healing are one step behind the gods of fertility and economy in the belief world of ancient time.
