Improving Teachers' Professional Learning and Practice Through Action Research

Bu çalışma, profesyonel öğrenmenin geliştirilmesi ve aksiyon araştırması arasındaki yakın ilişki üzerine yoğunlaşmaktadır. Aksiyon araştırmasının profesyonel öğrenme ve uygulamanın geliştirilmesi için güçlü bir araç olarak görülebilmesindeki yollar hakkında düşünceyi ortaya koymaktadır. Öğretmenler oldukça ağır bir yük altında olmalarına rağmen, araştırma ile profesyonel öğrenme için yine de bir olanağın olduğu sunulmaktadır. ‘Aksiyon araştırmasının profesyonel öğrenmeye nasıl bir yol olduğu’ konusu, aksiyon araştırmasının tarihsel gelişimi ve boyutları aracılığıyla ortaya konulmaktadır. Aksiyon araştırmasının, öğretmenlerin profesyonel öğrenmelerinde olduğu gibi kendi eğitim uygulamalarını test etme ve geliştirmeye yarayacak kendi metotlarının yapılandırmaya yardımcı olduğuna inanılmaktadır.

This study focuses upon a close relation between improvement of professional learning and action research. It gives an account of the ways in which action research can be seen a powerful means for professional learning and improvement of practice. It is presented that although teachers are under heavy burden, there is still a room for professional learning through research. The theme, ‘how action research is a way to professional learning’, is provided via the historical development of and aspects to action research. It is believed that action research may enable teachers to construct their own methods with which they may test and improve their educational practice as well as their professional learning.
