Majör Depresyon ve Tükenmişlik: Bir Olgu Sunumu

Bu olgu sunumunda 25 yaşındaki bir yüksek lisans öğrencisinin depresyon ve tükenmişlik hisleri sunulup bu semptomların hastanın geçmiş hikayesi ile bağlantıları anlatılacaktır. Sosyal ve akademik hayatı olumsuz yönde etkilenen hastada uygulanan bilişsel davranışçı terapi ile edilen sonuçlar süreçle birlikte incelenecektir. Günümüzde lisans, yüksek lisans ve doktora öğrencilerinde depresyon ve tükenmişlik hisleri yaygın olarak görülmesi endişe vericidir. Genel popülasyona göre daha fazla risk altında olan bu grupların ruh sağlığı için çeşitli psikoterapi ve diğer yöntemler araştırmacılarca sunulmuştur. Çeşitli sorumluluklar ve beklentilerin altından tek başına kalkmaya çalışan öğrencilerin zorlandığı ve çaresiz hissettiği bilinmektedir. Günümüzde depresyonun tedavisinin en etkili yöntemlerinden biri olarak bilişsel davranışçı terapiler sunulmuştur. Depresyonun tedavisinde problemlerin kişiselliği tedavinin bireyselleştirilmesi konusunda önem arz etmektedir. Semptomların görülmesinde olası sebeplerin derinine inmede bilişsel davranışçı terapiler önemlidir. Bununla birlikte öğrencilerin başa çıkma mekanizmalarını güçlendirmek için akademik destek, sosyal destek, akademik planlama gibi yöntemler sunulmalı ve yeni başa çıkma yöntemleri ve tedavi planları ile ilgili araştırmalar yapılmalıdır.

Major Depression and Burnout: A Case Report

In this case report, the feelings of depression and burnout of a 25-year-old graduate student will be presented and the connections of these symptoms with the patient's past history will be explained. The results of the cognitive behavioral therapy applied to the patient whose social and academic life was adversely affected will be examined together with the process It is worrying that depression and burnout are common among undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students nowadays. Various psychotherapy and other methods have been presented by researchers for the mental health of these groups, which are at higher risk than the general population. It is known that students who try to cope with various responsibilities and expectations on their own, have difficulty in doing so, therefore feel helpless. Nowadays cognitive behavioral therapies are presented as one of the most effective methods of treatment of depression. In the treatment of depression, the personal nature of the problems is important in the individualization of the treatment. Cognitive behavioral therapies are important in digging deeper into possible causes of symptoms. In addition, methods such as academic support, social support, and academic planning should be offered to strengthen students' coping mechanisms, and research should be conducted on new coping methods and treatment plans.
