LIBERATE TATE X TATE LIBERATE TATE VE BP & TATE ORTAKLIĞINA KARŞI PERFORMATİF EYLEMLERİ

İngiltere'nin önde gelen sanat kurumlarından biri olan Tate galerilerinin finansmanını sağlayan BP (British Petroleum), 2010'da sebep olduğu Meksika Körfezi felaketiyle çeşitli aktivist grupların hedefi haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışmanın odak noktasını ise; Londra tabanlı aktivist sanat kolektifi "Liberate Tate"in (Tate'i Özgürleştir), BP & Tate ortaklığına karşı düzenlediği aktivist performansları oluşturmaktadır. Bu üretimlerde BP'nin çevreye ve ekolojik dengeye verdiği zarar her seferinde sanatın dili ile Tate mensuplarına ve galerideki ziyaretçilere hatırlatılırken, iki kurum arasındaki sponsorluk ilişkisinin sona erdirilmesi talep edilmektedir.

LIBERATE TATE AND PERFORMATIVE ACTS AGAINST BP & TATE COOPERATION

BP, which finances Tate, one of the leading art galleries of England, became a target of various activist groups due to the disaster it caused in Mexico Gulf, in 2010. This article focuses on London based activist art collective "Liberate Tate"s performative acts against BP & Tate cooperation. In these acts, Tate members and visitors of the gallery are reminded through the language of art that BP damages the environment and ecological systems. They also demand to end the sponsorship agreement between two organizations.
