GÖRSEL İLETİŞİM TASARIMINDA UYGULAMA SÜRECİNDE YAPAY ZEKANIN YERİ

Giderek olgunlaşan ve hayatımızın her alanına girmeye başlayan yapay zeka uygulamaları, görsel iletişim tasarım alanında da farklı örnekler oluşturmaya başlamıştır. Bu araştırmanın amacı yapay zeka algoritmalarının görsel tasarımın uygulama aşamasında nasıl katkı sağlayabileceğinin incelenmesidir. Bu çalışma dahilinde yapay zekanın farklı tanımları ele alınmış, söz konusu tanımlar içerisinde genel kabul gören yargılar üzerinden yapay zeka yaklaşımları açıklanmıştır. Görsel iletişim tasarımı konusunda yapay zekanın tasarımcıya fonksiyonel veya estetik konularda öneriler sunmaktan, otonom bir tasarım oluşturmaya kadar sunabileceği farklı kabiliyetler örnekler ile incelenmiş, bu kabiliyetlerin durağan görseller ve kullanıcı arayüzlerinin geliştirilmesi sırasında nasıl katkı sağlayabileceği ortaya konulmuştur. Bu araştırma nitel ve betimsel bir araştırmadır. Mevcut teknoloji ile yapay zeka temelli programlarla insan faktörü olmadan özgün ve yaratıcı eserler ortaya konulamayacağı gibi, tasarımın uygulanması sürecine destekleyici bir araç olarak kullanıldığı takdirde tasarımcının farklı tasarımlar oluşturulmasına destek olabileceği, tasarım sürecine ayrılan eforu azaltabileceği ve zaman kazandıracağı belirlenmiştir.

ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN EXECUTION

Artificial intelligence applications, which are becoming more mature and have started entering into every aspect of our lives, have started to provide different examples in the field of visual communication design. The aim of this research is to examine how AI algorithms can contribute to the implementation phase of the visual design process. Within this study, different definitions of artificial intelligence were discussed and AI approaches were explained through generally accepted judgments within these definitions. The different capabilities that artificial intelligence can offer the designer in terms of visual communication design, from providing suggestions on functional or aesthetic matters, to creating an autonomous design, were examined with examples and it was discussed how these capabilities could contribute during the development of still visuals and user interfaces. This research considers the subject matter from qualitative and descriptive aspects. Within the status of current technology, it is determined that with artificial intelligence-based programs, authentic and creative works may not be produced without the human factor, and if used as a supporting tool in the process of implementing the design, it can be the designer who supports creation of different designs, reduces the effort allocated to the design process and saves time.
