İletişim Araştırmalarında İnternet Gazeteciliği: Bağlamsal Çalışmaların Eksikliği

İnternet, sivil kullanıma açılması ve ticarileştirilmesi, kullanımınınyaygınlaşması gibi gelişmeler sonrasında medya metinlerinin sunumu için yeni birmecra olarak belirmiş ve hızla gazetecilik için kullanılmaya başlamıştır. 1990larınikinci yarısından itibaren de hem internet gazeteciliği örnekleri niceliksel olarakartmış hem de internetin habere, gazetecilik içeriğine erişim amacıyla kullanımıyaygınlaşmıştır. Aynı tarihlerde internet gazeteciliği iletişim araştırmaları içindede popüler bir çalışma alanı olarak belirmiştir. Bu yazıda iletişim araştırmalarıiçinde internet gazeteciliğini ele alan çalışmalar işlevsel bir sınıflandırmaçerçevesinde incelenmiştir. Yazıda sonuç olarak iletişim araştırmaları içindeinternet gazeteciliğine ilişkin ideal bir model sunulduğu belirtilmekte ve bumodelin eksiklikleri tartışılmaktadır.

Internet Journalism in Communication Research: The Lack of Contextual Studies

Internet, with the advances such as availability for public use,commercialization and access by wider audiences, emerged as a new mediumfor distribution of media texts and immediately began to be used for journalisticpurposes. By mid-90 s, both the number of internet journalism examples and useof internet for accessing news and related journalistic content increased. Also bythe 90 s internet journalism appeared as a popular topic in communication studies.The paper explores internet journalism studies in communication field through afunctional classification. Eventually the paper claims an ideal model of internetjournalism constructed in communication field and discusses the shortcomings ofthis model.
