Gelişen Teknoloji, Değişen Savaş: Babür Şah’ın Hindistan’daki Savaşlarında Ateşli Silahların Rolü

İnsanoğlunun kaderini etkileyen çeşitli dönüm noktaları vardır. Hiç şüphesiz bunlardan birisi debarutun icadıdır. Bir devinim şeklinde süregelen güç edinme arzusu ateşli silahları tarih sahnesindeönemli bir metaa haline getirmiştir. Öyle ki uzun süre insan gücüne dayanan savaşlar artık yerinigüherçile ve sülfürün karışımından doğan baruta bırakmıştır. Bu çalışma, 16. yüzyıldan itibarensavaş meydanlarının değişmez bir parçası haline gelen ateşli silah teknolojisinin Hindistancoğrafyasında nasıl bir etki yarattığını tarihsel bağlamda anlamlandırmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bubağlamda 16. yüzyılda Babür İmparatorluğu’nun kuruluş sürecinde ateşli silahların orduya nasıldâhil edildiği, hangi taktik ve stratejiler ile birlikte kullanıldığı, Babür Şah’ın kuzey Hindistancoğrafyasındaki Panipat (1526), Khanwa (1527) ve Ghaghra (1529) savaşları üzerindenincelenecektir.

Developing Technology, Changing Battle: Role of Firearms in the Battles of Babur Shah in India

There are various turning points that affect the destiny of human beings. The invention of the gunpowder is undoubtedly one of these. The desire to acquire power has made firearms an important object in the history scene. Such that, the wars depended on human power a long time have left its place to gunpowder made the mixture of saltpetre and sulphur. The proposed paper aims to explain how the firearm technology which became the constant pieces of battlefields from the 16th century onward affected the Indian geography in historical frame. In this context, it will be examined how firearms were incorporated into the army and used through the battles of Panipat (1526), Khanwa (1527) and Ghaghra (1529) which Babur Shah did in northern India during the establishment period of the Mughal Empire in the 16th century.
