Validity and Reliability Study of Cross-Cultural Psychological Capital Scale

In this study, it was aimed to adapt the Cross-Cultural Psychological Capital Scale (CCPCS) to Turkish culture. The study was carried out on two samples and the first sample consisted of 214 undergraduate students participated in the Erasmus program. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was performed with this sample. The second sample group includes Turkish citizens who have been interacting with a foreign culture for at least 3 months abroad for any reason. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed with the data collected from this second sample group consisting of 249 people. Data from the sample groups were collected using an electronically designed questionnaire. As a result of the EFA, a measurement tool consisting of 3 factors and explaining 62.8% of the variance was obtained. By the way of DFA, 5 different alternative models were tried and the best fit goodness values was found in the corrected 4-factor theoretical model. This 4 factor is named as Cross-Cultural Hope, Cross-Cultural Self-Efficacy, CrossCultural Optimism and Cross-Cultural Resilience. The internal consistency reliability coefficient of the scale was calculated as 82, .93, .72, .92 on the basis of dimensions respectively. In the light of this information, it is concluded that CCPCS is a valid and reliable measurement instrument suitable for Turkish culture.
