TÜRKİYE SİNEMASINDA SPOR

Sinemanın ilk yıllarına dayanan spor ve sinema ilişkisini inceleyen çalışmalar akademik literatürde önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Türkiye sinemasında spor söz konusu olduğunda ise konuyla ilgili kapsamlı araştırmalara az rastlanmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; sporun, Türkiye sinemasındaki yerini ve önemini ortaya koymaktır. Bu kapsamda, Türkiye’de çekilmiş spor temalı filmlerin niceliği, bu filmlerin sporu hangi bağlamda konu edindikleri ve ülkedeki akademik çevrelerin bu filmlere nasıl tepki verdiği araştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın yöntemini, nitel araştırma yaklaşımının bir türü olan doküman incelemesi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma neticesinde, Türkiye sinemasında toplamda 41 spor temalı filme rastlanmıştır. Bu filmlerin çoğunluğunu futbol güreş ve dövüş sporları oluşturmaktadır. Filmlerde en çok dikkat çeken unsur ise birçok yabancı spor filminin aksine propaganda amacı taşımamaları ve ülke sporundaki başarıları konu edinmemeleridir. Filmlerin sayısına bakıldığında, sporun, Türkiye sinemasında önemli bir yer tutmadığı anlaşılmaktadır. Benzer şekilde, bu filmlere dair akademik incelemelerin sayısı da yok denecek kadar azdır. Araştırma neticesinde, gelecekteki araştırmalarda spor temalı filmlere daha fazla yer verilmesi önerilmektedir. Yapılacak incelemelerin, başta sporda sosyal alanlar olmak üzere, Türkiye’deki diğer disiplinlere de katkı sağlayacağı ve zengin tartışmalara zemin hazırlayacağı öngörülmektedir.

SPORTS IN TURKISH CINEMA

Relationship between cinema and sports traces back to the early years of cinema. The studies dealing with this relationship and sport films are of great importance in literature as regards. As for the sports in Turkish cinema, there are not inclusive and satisfying research papers examining the issue. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the place and importance of sports in Turkish cinema. To this end, document analysis procedure which is a form of qualitative research was used for the study. Within this scope, it has been investigated that how many sport themed films there are in Turkey; and in what context they include the sport themes; and to what extent the academics of Turkey have interests in them. As a result, 41 sport themed films were identified and most of them include football, wrestling, and martial arts. One of the attention-grabbing facts about the films is that as opposed to the many foreign films, they have not been used as a tool for propaganda and they do not include successes of Turkey in sports. Moreover, the numbers and the quality of the films indicate that sport and sport themed films are not of great importance in Turkish cinema. Besides, the academic studies dealing with the issue are only a few. In conclusion, it is recommended that the sport themed films in Turkey be examined in terms of many aspects, which will contribute to the social studies in sport sciences and will pave the way for new studies in Turkey.
