PLANTAR FASİİTLİ HASTALARDA PROLOTERAPİ TEDAVİSİNİN ETKİNLİĞİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Amaç: Plantar fasiit tanısı konulan hastalarda proloterapi tedavisinin ağrıyı azaltmadaki etkinliğini araştırmaktır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Plantar fasiit tanısı konulan 28 hasta (17 kadın, 11 erkek) çalışmaya alınmıştır. Ortalama 2 seans proloterapi uygulanan hastaların tedavi öncesi ve sonrası ağrı düzeyleri Vizüel Analog Skala (VAS) ile değerlendirilmiştir. VAS değerlerinin karşılaştırılmasında bağımlı gruplar için t-testi kullanılmıştır.Bulgular: Tüm hastalarımız tedaviye uyum sağlamış, hiçbirinde tedavi gerektirecek komplikasyon gelişmemiştir. Tedavi sonrası 1. ve 3. aylarda elde edilen VAS skorlarının tedavi öncesine göre anlamlı ölçüde düştüğü tespit edilmiştir (p=0.00). Sonuç: Plantar fasiit tedavisinde güvenilir ve etkin bir yöntem olarak proloterapi daha invaziv tekniklerden önce akla getirilmelidir.

Evaluation of The Effectiveness of Prolotherapy in Patients With Plantar Fasciitis

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy of prolotherapy for reducing pain in patients with plantar fasciitis.Material and Methods: 28 patients (17 female, 11 male) with plantar fasciitis were included the study. They were receiving 1-3 injections of prolotherapy and Visuel Analog Scale (VAS) for pain was used to evaluate clinical results before and after treatment. Paired sample t-test was used for data analysis.Results: All patients were well tolerated the prolotherapy and none of them had a serious complication. The results showed that VAS scores were decreased significantly in all patients at 1-3 months after treatment (p=0.00). Conclusion: we concluded that prolotherapy is an effective and safe option for treating plantar fasciitis before proceeding more invasive techniques.
