Kıbrıs'ta İç Göç Hareketleri ve Olası Bir Anlaşmada Etkileri

Bu araştırmada, 20. yüzyılda Kıbrıs'ta yaşanan iç göç hareketleri ve bununla ilgili toplumsal etkilerin neler olduğu üzerinde durulmuştur. Bundan hareketle araştırmanın temel amacı, her iki toplumda nüfus hareketlerinin neden olduğu, zaman içinde nasıl şekillendiği ve ortaya çıkardığı sonuçlar itibarıyla kitle psikolojisinin nasıl etkilendiği gösterilmiştir. Kıbrıs'taki toplumların en uzun yüzyılı olarak kabul edilen 20. yüzyıl içindeki iç göç hareketleri, adadaki her iki toplumun kalkınmasına etki eden en büyük faktörlerden birisi olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. 1975 nüfus mübadelesi ile iki toplumluluk ve iki kesimlilik süreci içinde bölünen adada, nüfusun iç göç hareketlerinden nasıl etkilendiği ve bu nüfusun nasıl rehabilite edildiği ele alınmış ve olası bir anlaşma hâlinde yer değiştirmesi muhtemel olan bölgelerden göç edeceklerin nasıl rehabilite edileceği, tahmini verilere dayanarak maliyet analizi çıkartılmıştır. Bu gerçekten hareketle araştırma, dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde 1900-1950 yılları arasında adadaki nüfus hareketleri ve karma köylerin sayısının ne olduğu belirlenmiştir. İkinci bölümde 1950-1963 yılları arasında toplumsal çatışmanın iç göç hareketini nasıl etkilediği ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde 1963-1975 yılları arasında yaşanan toplumsal ayrışmanın ve gettolaşma sürecinin iç dinamikleri belirtilmiştir. Son bölümdeyse 1975 yılında taraflar arasında yapılan nüfus mübadelesi ele alınmış ve bunların sosyal, siyasal, ekonomik ve toplumsal etkileri incelenmiştir.

Internal Migration in Cyprus and its Impact in the Case of a Possibly Emerging Agreement

This paper discusses internal migration in Cyprus in the 20thcentury and the social effects related to it. The main objective of the study is to show how mass psychology got affected by population movements in both societies, how they were shaped in time and the outcomes of the movements. Internal migration in Cyprus in the 20th century - often regarded as "the longest century" for both communities on the island - has been one of the major factors contributing to the development of both societies. This study focuses on how the population was af-fected following the division of the island into two in 1975 and the way this population was rehabilitated. It also makes a finan-cial analysis based on estimated data to determine the costs and means of rehabilitation in the case of a possibly forthcoming ex-change agreement between the two communities. The present study consists of four basic parts. The first part identifies the population movements on the island between 1900 and 1950 and the number of mixed villages. The second part analyzes the effect of social conflict between 1950 and 1963 on the internal migration movement. The third part dis-cusses the internal dynamics of social separation and the estab-lishment of ghettos between 1963 and 1975. Finally, the fourth part explores the population exchange that took place in 1975 and studies its social, political, societal and economic effects.
