Buschke Loewenstein tumor (giant condyloma acuminatum) treatment by surgery alone: A case report
Giant condyloma acuminatum, also known as Buschke-Löwenstein tumor (BLT) is a very rare sexually transmitted disease which primarily affects genital and perianal areas. Human papillomavirus has been identified as contributory to its development. Buschke-Löwenstein tumor is a unique variant of condyloma acuminate. It is categorized by local aggressive behavior and recurrence in spite of benign histology. Although various treatments have been used, response is often poor and recurrence rates high. We present a 58 year old male patient with giant condyloma acuminata which was success- fully treated with surgical excision.
