THE ROLE OF SELF-EFFICACY IN THE EFFECT OF MENTORING ON INTRAPRENEURSHIP

Today, the culture of intrapreneurship that affects the strategic superiority of enterprises is encouraged. However, the importance of integrating employees equipped with intrapreneurship qualifications supported through mentoring is emphasized. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to display the contributions of mentoring in the development of the crown prince's intrapreneurship behaviors in family businesses and to determine whether self-efficacy perception mediated in this relationship. In this study, family businesses in Ankara were determined as the population of the study. Data were collected from 273 crown princes who accepted to answer the questions by easy sampling technique which is one of the non-probability samplings. As a result of the analyzes, there were found that the career function factor of the mentorship had a positive effect on the other 5 factors except for innovation factor of intrapreneurship; psycho-social support function factor had a positive effect on proactiveness or risk-taking factors of intrapreneurship except for the others. However, it was not found in the relationship between mentoring factors and intrapreneurship factors, the mediating effect of self-efficacy. As a result, it was seen that mentoring was effective in increasing intrapreneurship behaviors of crown princes independent from self-efficacy perception.
