Şili ekonomisi'nin başarılı büyüme performansı ve kalkınması: Kurumsal yapı ve ekonomi politikaları ( 1975-2009 )

Şili ekonomisi son 20 yıllık dönemde çarpıcı bir değişim sergileyerek durgunluk ve finansal krizlerle mücadele eden bölgedeki diğer Latin Amerika ülkelerinin aksine, güçlü ve istikrarlı bir yapıya kavuşmuş, son yüzyıllık dönemdeki en az oynaklık sergileyen en yüksek ortalama büyüme oranlarını, enşasyonu tek haneli oranlara düşürerek yakalamıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Şili’nin istikrarlı bir ekonomiye ve güçlü büyüme performansına kavuşmasında etkili olan unsurları inceleyerek bu çarpıcı başarının ardındaki sebeplerin sorgulanmasıdır. Şili ekonomisinin kalkınmada sağladığı başarı, sadece kapsamlı, derin ve kalıcı reform sürecinin temelini oluşturduğu basiretli ekonomi politikaları tarafından belirlenmemiş, temel olarak doğru ve etkin politikaların oluşturulmasına olanak sağlayan iyi tasarlanmış ve yönetilmiş ekonomik ve politik kurumların bir sonucu olarak ortaya çıkmıştır.

Prosperous growth performance and development of the chilean economy: institutions and economic policies (1975-2009)

In contrast to the other Latin American countries in the region having trouble with recession and financial crises, the Chilean economy accomplished an outstanding performance in the last two decades through attaining a stable and strong economic structure with the least volatile and the highest growth rates of the last centennial period as well as single-digit inflation rates. The aim of this study is to investigate the reasons behind this outstanding success story through analyzing the instrumental factors. Successful development of the Chilean economy is not only determined by the prudent economic policies shaped by broad, deep and sustained reform process, but also as result of sound and efficient policies produced by well-designed and governed economic and political institutions.
