ATATÜRK-BİR MİLLETİN ADAMI (1956) BELGESEL FİLMİNİN TARİHSEL PERSPEKTİFTEN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Türkiye’nin kurucusu ve devlet adamıMustafa Kemal Atatürk hakkında yerli veyabancı yapımcılar tarafından birçok belgeselfilm hazırlanmıştır. Atatürk’ün ölümününardından Türkiye dışında bir yapımcıtarafından Atatürk’e dair hazırlanan ilkbelgesel film, 1956 tarihli Atatürk-BirMilletin Adamı(Ataturk-Man Of Nation,1956) adlı yapımdır. Film, Amerika BirleşikDevletleri merkezli Ortadoğu’nun AmerikanDostları (American Friends of the MiddleEast-AFME) adlı bir organizasyon tarafındanyapılmıştır. AFME Örgütü, İkinci DünyaSavaşının ardından ABD’nin Ortadoğu’dakietkinliğini artırmak maksadıyla kurduğu,Arap yanlısı, anti-siyonist eğilimli, istihbaratdestekli bir sivil toplum kuruluşudur.Dönemin ABD’deki etkin kanaat önderleri örgüt içinde kurucu olarak faaliyetgöstermiştir. Örgüt resmi amacını, bölgeülkeleri ile kültürel, dini ve insanidayanışmayı mümkün kılmak olarakaçıklamıştır. Gerçekte ise AFME, SoğukSavaş’ta ABD’nin Ortadoğu coğrafyasındakipolitik etki alanını genişletmek için siyasetdışı alanlarda faaliyetler yürütmüştür. Bufaaliyetlerden biri de belgesel film çalışmalarıolmuştur. AFME, ABD’de gösterilmek üzereTürkiye ve Mısır hakkında belgesel filmçalışmaları yapmıştır. Türkiye ve Atatürkhakkında yapılan Atatürk-Bir Milletin Adamıfilmi, bu yapımlardan biridir. Film döneminpolitik ve ideolojik eğilimleriniyansıtmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda çalışmada,Atatürk-Bir Milletin Adamı adlı belgesel,tarihsel film eleştirisi yöntemiyle irdelenerek,yapımın tarihsel önemi ve ideolojik yönüortaya konulmaya çalışılacaktır.

ANALYSIS OF ATATURK-MAN OF NATION (1956) DOCUMENTARY FILM FROM HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE

Domestic and international producers have produced many documentaries about the founder of Turkey and a statesman, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Ataturk-Man of the Nation, dated 1956, is the first documentary made after Ataturk’s death by a producer outside Turkey. United States America based organization called American Friends of the Middle East-AFME created the film. The AFME Organization is a non-governmental organization sponsored by intelligence with a pro-Arab, anti-Zionist tendency that was founded after the Second World War to increase the effectiveness of the USA in the Middle East. Successful leaders of the time in America acted within the organization as founders. The official aim of the organization was to enable cultural, religious and humanitarian solidarity with the countries of the region. During the Cold War, AFME undertook operations in non-political fields to broaden the political reach of the USA in the Middle East. Documentary film study has been one of these practices. For the work to be shown in the United States, AFME produced a documentary film about Egypt and Turkey. One of these productions is Ataturk-Man of a Country. The film represents the period's political and ideological patterns. In this direction, with the method of historical film critique, the documentary titled Ataturk-Man of a Nation will be analyzed and expose the historical significance and the ideological aspect of the production.
