BUZAĞILARDA GÖZLENEN EKLEM YANGILARININ DÜŞÜK FREKANSLI LAZER VE DMSO İLE SAĞALTIMININ KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI

Bu çalışmada 27 adet buzağıya ait toplam 40 adet artritli eklem değerlendirildi. Buzağılar dimetilsülfoksit (DMSO) ve LAZER grubu olmak ü zere iki tedavi grubuna ayrıldı. DMSO grubunda on adet akut ve on adet kronik artrit olmak ü zere 20 adet ekleme %20lik DMSOlu laktatlı ringer solü syonu tedavi amacıyla uygulandı. LAZER grubunda ise on adet akut ve on adet de kronik artritli buzağı eklemi normal laktatlı ringer solü syon lavajından sonra Galyum Arsenik tü rü lazer probunun ellipsoid tarzda bölgesel ve on dakika sü resince uygulanmasıyla tedavi edildi. Tüm buzağıların tedavi ö ncesi ve sonrasında vü cut ısısı, solunum ve kalp atım sayılarındaki değişimleri, radyolojik bulguları, topallık durumları kaydedildi. Elde edilen sinovyal sıvı volüm, renk, gö rü nü ş, viskozitesindeki değişiklikler ve pıhtılaş- ma ö zelliği yö nü nden muayene edildi. Sinovyal sıvıların Total protein, albumin, globulin, glukoz, alkalin fosfataz (ALP), laktik dehidrogenaz (LDH), aspartat aminotransferaz (AST) enzim aktiviteleri ve hiyaluronik asit seviyeleri belirlendi. Her iki grup buzağıda tedavi ö ncesi olan topallık tedavi sonrasında kısmen kayboldu. Tedavi ö ncesinde her iki grupta da yü ksek seviyede olan eklem sıvı hiyaluronik asit dü zeyleri tedavi sonrasında istatistiksel olarak belirgin bir azalma gö sterdi. Sonuç- ta, buzağılarda artritlerin sağaltımında karşılaştırılan DMSO ve LAZER uygulamalarında her iki yö nteminde tedavi sü recinde etkili olmasına rağmen, LASER uygulamasının hiyaluronik asit, LDH, glukoz, topallık skorları ve eklem sıvı renk değişim değişkenleri dikkate alındı- ğında iyileşme sü recine daha fazla katkıda bulunduğu tespit edildi.

COMPARISON OF TREATMENT OF ARTHRITIS IN CALVES BY LOW FREQUENCY OF LASER AND DMSO

Forty joints belonging to 27 calves with arthritis were evaluated. The calves were allocated into two groups as dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) and LASER. The calves with arthritis for one week period were assessed as in acute stage while arthritis more than one week were in chronic stage. Ten acute and ten chronic arthritis joints were treated by administration of 20% DMSO prepared with lactated ringer solution. 10 acute and 10 chronic joints in Laser groups were irst washed with 0.9% physiological solution and then treated by elipsoidal application of Galium arsenic laser probe to the joints. Lameneses degree, body temperature, respiratory - heart rate, radiological changes before and after treatment were recorded. Obtained sinovial luid was checked for volume, colour, changes in viscosity and coagulation features. Protein, albumin, globuline, glucose, alkaline fosfatase (ALP), lactic dehidrogenase (LDH), aspartat aminotransferase (AST) enzyme activity and hyaluronic acid level were determined. Lameness detected before treatment was relieved for some calves after treatment for both groups. Hyaluronic acid levels were determined high before the treatment for both groups, but reduced signi icantly after the treatment. There was a signi icant difference between the groups for sinovial glucose with a higher value in DMSO group before the treatment but no difference was observed after treatment between the groups. In conclusion, DMSO and Laser application for the treatment of arthritis were effective but hyaluronic acid, LDH, glucose values, lameness score and joint luid colour changes indicated that improvement by Laser was more than DMSO application.
