A Case Of Septic Arthritis Due To Pseudomonas putida
Septic arthritis is infection of one or more joints by microorganisms.Failure to early recognize and inappropriate treatment of septic arthritis results in significant rates of morbidity In certain high-risk persons who have underliying diseases such as in intravenous drug abusers, immunsupresive pa- tients, patients with diabetes mellitus and the elderly , Gram negative bacteria may cause septic arthritis, such as E.coli and Pseudomonas spp.The main principle fort he treatment of bacterial septic arthritis is articular drainage and pathogen spesific antibitictreatment. In this manuscript, a 62 years old female septic arthritis case due to Pseudomonas putida in with no underlying dis- eases such as diabetes mellitus and immunsupresive treatment . Patient was recovered by three weeks piperacillin- tazobactam treatment and the intermittent drainage of the infected synovial fluid from the knee joint.
