Siyer kelimesi sözlükte “davranış, hal, yol, âdet, bir kimsenin ahlakı, seciyesi ve hayat hikayesi” gibi anlamlara gelen sîret kelimesinin çoğuludur. Terim olarak ise Hz. Peygamber’in hayatı, onun hayatını konu edinen bilim dalı ve bu alanda yazılan eserler için kullanılır. Günümüze kadar siyer adı altında yazılan kitaplara bakıldığında önemli bir külliyat oluşturmaktadır. Bunun en önemli nedenlerinden bir tanesi İslam dünyasında Hz. Muhammed’in hayatı ve kişiliğine duyulan ilgi ve önemdir. Ele alacağımız eser, Hz. Muhammed’i ve siyer konularını vahyin belirlediği bakış açısıyla okurlarına sunmaktadır. Ayrıca yazar hikâye ve hurafelerden arındırılmış bir Peygamber portresi sunarak aslında insan Hz. Muhammed’i anlatmaktadır.

As a term, it is used to refer to the life of the Prophet Muhammad, the field of scholarship that focuses on his life, and the works written in this field. When looking at the books written so far under the name of "Siyer", it can be seen that they constitute an important collection. One of the main reasons for this is the interest and importance given to the life and personality of Prophet Muhammad in the Islamic world. The work we will discuss presents Prophet Muhammad and Siyer topics to readers from the perspective of divine revelation. Additionally, the author provides a portrait of Prophet Muhammad that is purified of myths and legends and, in essence, depicts him as a human being.
