PLATON’UN DÜŞÜNCE SERÜVENİ: FELSEFE ÜZERİNE FELSEFİ BİR SORGULAMA

Felsefenin mahiyeti sorunu Antik Çağ’dan beri bu disiplinle İştigal eden herkesi uğraştırmakta ve ciddi tartışmalar yaratmaktadır. Hayli çetrefil olan bu meseleye cevap vermek hayati bir önem taşımaktadır, zira felsefe konusunda söz söyleyebilmek için bir tanıma yaslanmak elzemdir. Bu noktada Platon felsefesinin bir çıkış noktası oluşturduğu çünkü onun düşünce serüveninin felsefenin doğası hakkında bazı ip uçları verdiği İddia edilebilir. Bu çalışmada Platon’un düşünce serüveninin taşıdığı özellikler serilenmiş, bu konudaki tartışmalı hususlar ayrıntılandırılarak hangi görüşlerin tercih edilmesi gerektiği tespit edilmiştir. Bu arka plandan yola çıkılarak bir tanım denemesi yapılmış, buna bağlı olarak felsefenin doğası hakkında birtakım sonuçlara varılmaya çalışılmıştır. Varılan sonuçların akabinde teori ve pratik arasındaki sıkı bağ temellendirilmiş, son olarak da felsefeci ve filozof terimleri arasındaki fark üzerinde durulmuştur.

PLATO’S INTELLECTUAL ADVENTURE: A PHILOSOPHICAL INVESTIGATION ON PHILOSOPHY

The question regarding the nature of Philosophy has caused serious debates and troubled those engaging in this discipline since Antiquity. It is of vital importance to respond to this rather complicated issue because relying on a defi nition is essential to be able to remark on philosophy. At this point, it can be argued that Plato’s philosophy creates a starting point since his intellectual adventure presents us some clues about the nature of the Philosophy. In this study, the characteristics of Plato’s intellectual adventure are presented through his intellectual processes, and then the controversial issues regarding his philosophical development are elaborated for the sake of identifying the most acceptable views. Based on this background, a defi nition of philosophy is made and, accordingly, certain conclusions are drawn about the nature of Philosophy. Following the conclusions, the tight connection between practice and theory is established fi rmly, and fi nally the diff erence between the terms “felsefeci” (the person who is interested in philosophy professionally) and “philosopher” is emphasized.
