16. Yüzyılın ikinci yarısında Osmanlı-Safevi Sınırında Eşkıyalar: Bir çözümleme denemesi

Yeni Çağ’ın başlarında eşkıyalığın aldığı biçimlerin incelenmesi, bu oluşumların siyasitoplumsal yapılarının tarihsel-çözümlemesi için yararlı olacağı gibi, içlerinde bulunduğu siyasi uzamın doğasını kavramak içinde gereklidir. Her ne kadar, bu yazıda, 16. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında Osmanlı-Safevi sınırındaki eşkıyalar ve bunlarla bağlantılı olan yerel yarı-bağımsız siyasi eyleyiciler üzerinde durulduysa da, bunların işleyiş kipleri, Osmanlı siyasi uzamının çeperindeki ve diğer devletlerin sınır bölgelerinde bunların çağdaşı olan oluşumlarla benzeriklikleri ve ilintileri açığa çıkarılarak kurgulandı.

Bandits at Ottoman-Safavid frontier in the second half of the 16th century: An analysis

The analysis of bandits as a social formation in the pre-modern times, particularly their variants in the peripheral areas, is not only useful for the study of their socio-political structure in general, but also necessary for the understanding of the political realm in which they operate. Even if in this short article, emphasis is put on the forms of actions realized by the bandits and semi-autonomous recognized political actors of the Ottoman-Safavid frontier in the second half of the 16th century, this, on the other hand, should not conceal the presence of homologous patterns -hence their relationality- observable in other marginal configurations of the Ottoman Empire as well as in contemporaneous frontier zones elsewhere.
