Süt ineklerinde postpartum fonksiyon bozukluklarının tanısında ultrasonografi ile serum progesteron düzeyi ölçümlerinin karşılaştırılması

Bu çalışma ile süt ineklerinde karşılaşılan anöstrus, suböstrüs ve kistik ovaryum gibi ovaryum fonksiyon bozukluklarının tanısında kullanılan transrektal ultrasonografinin güvenilirliğinin, hayvanlara on gün ara ile gerçekleştirilen iki ultrasonografik muayene sonuçlarının hayvanların serum progesteron düzeyleri ile karşılaştırılması yoluyla ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla toplam 120 baş sağmal ineğin bulunduğu bir ticari işletmede doğumdan sonra en az altı ay süresince gebe kalmayan 40 inek incelenmiş olup, bu hayvanlarda fonksiyonel infertilitenin etiyolojik tanısı için transrektal ultrasonografi ve serum progesteron değerleri karşılaştırılmıştır. Ultrasonografi sonucunda olguların %10'unda (n=4) kistik ovaryum, %7.5'unda (n=3) hakiki anöstrus ve %82.5'inde (n=33) sakin kızgınlık tespit edilmiş olup, bu hayvanların progesteron değerlerine göre tanısı ise sırasıyla %10 (n=4), %22.5 (n=9) ve %67.5 (n=27) şeklinde belirlenmiştir. Buna göre olguların %80'inde (n=32) ultrasonografi ve serum progesteron seviyelerinin uyumlu olduğu görülürken, kalan %20'sinde (n=8) ise ultrasonografik tanı serum progesteron tanısı ile desteklenmemiştir. Sonuç olarak, ultrasonografinin süt ineklerinde gözlenen ovaryum fonksiyon bozukluklarının tanısı yanı sıra özellikle ovaryum kistlerinin tanısında kullanılabilecek değerli bir araç olduğu kanısına varılmıştır.

A comparision of ultrasonography and measurement of serum progesterone levels in the diagnosis of postpartum ovarian functional disturbances in dairy cows

The aim of this study was to determine the reliability of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of ovarian functional disturbances such as anestrus, subestrus and cystic structures in cows with transrectal ultrasonographic examinations and blood samples collected for serum progesterone analysis with ten days interval. Results of diagnostic examinations with either trans-rectal ultrasonography or serum progesterone levels were compared in 40 non-pregnant cows in a commercial dairy herd consisting of 120 cows. The ethilogies of the cases were determined as ovarian cysts, true anestrus and subestrus respectively at a rate of 10% (n=4), 7.5% (n=3) and 82.5% (n=33) with ultrasonography, while progesterone levels have revaled that these figures were 10% (n=4), 22.5% (n=9) ve 67.5% (n=27) respectively. According to this USG examinations and serum progesterone levels are in agreement in 80% (n=32)' of the total cases while in the remaining 20% (n=8) USG diagnosis could not be verified by serum progesterone levels. It has been concluded that ultrasonography can be used as a valuable tool for the diagnosis of ovarian fuctional disturbances and especially in cows with ovarian cysts.
