Sancı semptomlu atlarda plazma oksidatif stres parametreleri

Plasma oxidative stress parameters in horses with colic symptoms

This study was aimed at determining the plasma oxidative stress parameters in horse with colic symptom. The study involved fifteen horses with acute colic and ten healthy horses as control. Plasma glutathione peroxidase, reduced glutathione, catalase and lipid peroxidation levels were spectrophotometrically determined. Malondiadehyde (MDA), glutathione peroxidase (GsHPx) and reduced glutathione (GSH) concentrations significantly different between the groups. Although catalase (CAT) levels was higher in healthy horses, this difference was not statistically significant. This study has highlighted important differences in plasma oxidative stres parameters between horse with colic and healthy controls.
