Examining Burnout and Job Satisfaction of Nurses Working in Pediatric Units

Aim: The aim of this descriptive and cross-sectional study is to determinethe levels of burnout and job satisfaction of nurses working inpediatric units, and the relationship between burnout and job satisfaction.Methods: The study was carried out in two pediatric hospitals in Ankara.The study comprised 235 nurses. Data were collected with theSociodemographic Data Form, the Maslach Burnout Inventory, and theMinnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire. The nurses manifested averageburnout and job satisfaction levels. During the evaluation of data, parametricstatistics including one-way ANOVA and Independent Sample tTest for group comparisons, and the Pearson correlation coef cient forrelations among quantitative variables were used. Multiple RegressionAnalysis was used to further examine the factors affecting burnout andjob satisfaction levels.Results: According to the ndings of the study, the emotional exhaustionmean score was 20.0±6.89, the personal accomplishment meanscore was 19.7±4.43, the depersonalization mean score was 5.7±3.38,and the nurses' overall satisfaction score was 2.6±0.62. Pediatri Kliniklerinde Çalısan Hemsirelerde Tükenmislik ve Is Doyumunun Incelenmesi

Amaç: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipteki bu arastırmanın amacı, pediatri kliniklerinde çalısan hemsirelerde tükenmislik ve is doyumu düzeylerinin ve aralarındaki iliskinin belirlenmesidir. Yöntem: Arastırma Ankara ilinde bulunan iki çocuk hastanesinde yürütülmüstür. Arastırmaya 235 hemsire katılmıstır. Veriler sosyodemograk veri formu, Maslach Tükenmislik Ölçegi ve Minnesota Doyum Ölçegi kullanılarak toplanmıstır. Verilerin degerlendirilmesinde gruplar arası farklılıkların belirlenmesinde Bagımsız Örneklem t Testi, ANOVA ve ölçek puanları arasındaki iliskinin belirlenmesinde Pearson Korelasyon Testi kullanılmıstır. Tükenmislik ve is doyumu düzeylerini etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesinde Çoklu Regresyon Analizi kullanılmıstır.
