Elli Yaş ve Üzerindeki Bireylerin Bazı SosyodemograŞ k Özellikleri, Sağlıklı Yaşam Biçimi Davranışları ve Sağlık İnançlarının Kolon Kanserine İlişkin Tarama Davranışlarına Etkisi

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı 50 yaş ve üzerindeki bireylerin bazı sosyo-demograŞ k özellikleri, sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları ve sağlık inançlarının kolon kanserine ilişkin tarama davranışlarına etkisinin belirlenmesidir. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı tipte olan bu araştırma bir aile sağlığı merkezinde 50 yaş ve üzerindeki 132 birey ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplamada Kolon Kanseri Risk Belirleme Formu ve Kolorektal Kanserden Korunmaya Yönelik Sağlık İnanç Modeli Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Son 10 yıl içinde bireylerin %10.7'si gaitada gizli kan testi ve %9.2'si kolonoskopi yaptırmıştır. Yapılan analizlerde kadınların erkeklere göre 5.2 kat (CI=1.01-26.8), sigara içmeyenlerin içenlere göre 0.2 kat (CI=0.04-0.8), alkol kullanmayanların kullananlara göre 0.13 kat (CI=0.02-0.8), egzersiz yapanların yapmayanlara göre 0.10 kat (CI=0.01-0.5) daha fazla gaitada gizli kan tarama testi yaptırdığı belirlenmiştir. Some Sociodemographic Characteristics, Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors and Health Beliefs of Individuals Aged 50 and over Effect on Screening Behaviors of Colon Cancer

Aim: The aim of this study was to determine Colon Cancer Screeningrelated Behaviors and Health Belief Levels of individuals aged 50 and over. Methods: This descriptive and correlational study was conducted at a family health center with 132 individuals aged 50 years and over. To collect data, the Colon Cancer Risk Assessment Form and the Health Belief Model Scale for Protection from Colorectal Cancer were used.Results: Only 10.7% of the participants had a fecal occult blood test and 9.2% had a colonoscopy, during the ten years preceding the study. The analysis revealed that of the participants, those who were females, nonsmokers, nondrinkers and those who exercised had the fecal occult blood screening test more often than did their counterparts [5.2 times (CI=1.01-26.8), 0.2 times (CI=0.04-0.8), 0.13 times (CI=from 0.020.8), 0.10 times (CI=0.01-0.5) more respectively].
