Asya Ülkelerinde Üniversite Düzeyinde Almanca Öğrenenlerin Ülke Bilgisine Yönelik İlgi Alanlarını Gösteren Araştırma Sonuçları

In public and private foreign language teaching institutions, foreign language teaching coursebooks contribute to the ability of students to acquire the communicative and intercultural skills. However, it is not possible to say that mass produced coursebooks take into consideration the needs of every target group of language learners. Whereas, the books based on the interest areas of target learners increase the student motivation. Therefore, it is needed to have an analysis of learners’ interests and take these interests into account while designing a coursebook. The scope of this study includes research on identifying the areas of interest on Germany among learners of German language as a foreign one in Asian countries. In 8 Asian countries the learners are predominantly interested in topics on culture and higher education; on the other hand, issues on politics are almost not within their interest areas.
