Kayseri'deki Köpeklerde Canine Adenovirus Seroprevalansı

Canine adenovirus (CAV) enfeksiyonu dünyada yaygın olarak görülen özellikle de genç köpeklerde enfeksiyon oluşturan akut viral bir hastalıktır. Bu çalışmada Kayseri ilinde bulunan köpeklerde CAV spesifik antikorların varlığının enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) yöntemi ile araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla daha önce CAV aşısı yapılmamış, farklı cinsiyet, yaş ve ırktan toplam 91 adet köpeğin kan serumu kullanıldı. Örneklerin %36.2sinde (33/91) antikor pozitifliği belirlendi. Seropozitif bulunan köpeklerde cinsiyet, ırk ve yaş açısından istatistiksel anlamlılık bulunmadı. CAV enfeksiyonunun aşılanmamış köpeklerde yüksek seroprevalansa sahip olduğu ve enfeksiyondan korunmada düzenli aşılamanın önemli olabileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Canine Adenovirus Seroprevalance in Dogs in Kayseri

Infection of Canine adenovirus (CAV) is a widespread viral acute disease especially occurs at young dogs in the world. This study was aimed to investigate presence of CAV specific antibody in dogs in Kayseri province by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sera obtained from 91 dogs in different gender, breed and age and that were unvaccinated against CAV were used analysis. Positive antibody was determined in 36.2% of the dogs with ratio of 33/91. The seropositivity rates were not found to be statistically significant between breed, sex and ages. CAV infection was observed with a high prevalence in the unvaccinated dogs in Kayseri and it can be concluded that regular vaccination can reduce the prevalence of infection.
