Amaç:Uzun yıllar geç preterm bebeklerin doğum ağırlıkları term bebeklere yakın olduğu için benzer risk oranlarına sahip olduğu düşünüldüğünden gerçekte mortalite ve morbidite oranları daha yüksek olan bu grup bebekler göz ardı edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, hastanemizde doğan veya ünitemize başka bir merkezden sevk edilen geç preterm bebeklerin erken yenidoğan dönem sorunları incelendi.Gereç ve Yöntem:1 Mayıs 2015 ile 1 Nisan 2018 tarihleri arasında yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesi (YYBÜ)’ne yatırılan geç preterm bebeklerin gebelik haftası, doğum ağırlığı, doğum şekli, hastaneye yatış nedenleri ve süresi tıbbi kayıtlardan geriye dönük olarak araştırıldı.Bulgular:Çalışma dönemi boyunca YYBÜ’ne yatan toplam 1411 hastadan 257’si (%18.2) çalışmaya dahil edildi. Bu bebeklerin 243’ü (%94.5) hastanemizde doğan bebeklerdi.Ortalama gebelik haftası 35 ± 0.8 hafta, doğum ağırlığı 2424 ± 448 gr idi. Sıklık sırasına göre hastaneye yatış tanıla-rının solunum sıkıntısı (n =126, %49), hiperbilirubinemi (n =54, %21), intrauterin büyüme gelişme geriliği (n =52, %20.2) ve beslenme intoleransı(n =30, %11.6)olduğu görüldü. Ortalama hastanede yatış süresi 8.5 ± 5.2 gün olup bu hastaların tekrar hastaneye kabul oranı ise %7 idi. Çalışmaya alınan hastalardan hiçbiri ölmedi.Sonuç:Geç preterm bebeklerde YYBÜ’ne yatış gerektiren morbideteler sık görülmektedir ve sıklıkla tekrar hastaneye kabul edilmektedirler. Bu nedenle bu bebeklerin yakından izlenmesi gerekmektedir.
