Küreselleşen dünyada para krizi olgusu

Modern dünyadaki tüm ciddi tartışmaların merkezinde yer alan kriz fikri akademik araştırmalarda kendisine olan ilgiyi asla kaybetmemiştir. İktisadi bir kriz nadir rastlanan bir olaydır fakat ortaya çıktığında parasal istikrar, mali istikrar, finansal istikrar, fiyat istikrarı, iktisadi büyüme gibi pek çok unsurun bozulmasına neden olur. İktisadi krizler gerek iktisadi gerekse sosyal sistem üzerinde oldukça yıkıcı etkilere sahiptir. Finansal ya da iktisadi bir kriz türü olarak para krizleri kısa dönemde döviz kurunun sürekli ve önemli ölçüde değer kaybettiği bir dönem şeklinde tanımlanabilir. Böylece para krizi kur ve rezerv düzeyinde meydana gelen hızlı değişmelerle yakın ilişki içerisindedir. Para krizi literatürü dünya ekonomisinde meydana gelen küresel finansal krizle birlikte hızla değişmekte ve gelişmektedir. Bu bağlamda bu makalenin amacı para krizi literatüründeki yeni gelişmeleri ortaya koymaktır. Ayrıca bu yeni gelişmeler ışığında para krizlerinin nedenlerini, sonuçlarını, belirtilerini ve türlerini ortaya koymak daha iyi iktisadi politikalar üretmekte yararlı olacaktır.

The currency crisis phenomenon in the globalized world

The crisis idea which is at the heart of all serious discussions of the modern world never loses its popularity in the academic research. An economic crisis is typically a rare kind of an event but it impedes economic development and monetary, fiscal, financial and price stability when it appears. Economic crisis have huge adverse effects on economic and social system. Currency crises as a variety of financial or economic crises can be defined as “an episode in which the exchange rate depreciates substantially during a short period of time”. A currency crisis involves sharp changes in the exchange rate and foreign reserves. The currency crisis literature has sharply developed and changed with the global financial crisis occured in the world economy. The aim of this paper is to explore new developments in the currency crises literature. Additionally, refining the varieties, causes, symptoms and conclusions of the currency crises will be useful to produce better economic policies.
