17 Ağustos 1999 Marmara ve 12 Kasım 1999 Bolu-Düzce Depremlerini Yaşayan Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Depresyon Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi

Bu araştırmada, 17 Ağustos Marmara ve 12 Kasım Bolu-Düzce depremlerini yaşayan üniversite öğrencilerinin depresyon düzeyler deprem yaşamayanlar ile karşılaştırılmış, ayrıca deprem yaşayanların depresyon düzeyleri cinsiyet, depremde yakın akrabaların ölümü ve yaralanması, deprem yaşama sıklığı, oturulan evin depremden gördüğü hasar derecesi, deprem sonrası barınma ve ihtiyaçlarını karşılama biçimi gibi değişkenler açısından incelenmiştir.Araştırma sonucunda deprem yaşayanların depresyon düzeyleri deprem yaşamayan karşılaştırma grubundan yüksek bulunmuştur. Deprem yaşayanların depresyon düzeyleri cinsiyet, depremde birinci derecede akrabaların kaybı ve yaralanması, deprem yaşama sıklığı ve oturulan evin hasar derecesi ile ilişkili bulunmuştur. Deprem sonrası yaşanan depresyon depremzedelerin barınma ve ihtiyaçlarını karşılama biçimi ile ilişkili bulunmamıştır

A Study on Depression Levels of the University Student's Experiencing the 17th Aug 1999 Bolu-Duzce Earthqukes

In this study, a comparison was made between depression levels of university students experiencing the 1999 Marmara and Bolu-Duzce earthquakes and those of the ones having no such experiences. In addition, the depression levels of individuals were examined in terms of sex, loss or injury of a family member, frequency of experiencing earthquake, physical status of the house, type of housing, and meeting their needs after the earthquake. Results showed that depression levels of those experiencing earthquake were higher than those of not having such experience. There was a relationship between depression level and sex, loss or injury of a family member, frequency of experience and physical status of the house. There was no relationship between depression after the earthquake and the type of housing and meeting their needs.
