GOD-SPACE RELATION: 'OMNIPRESENCE' AND 'TRANSCENDENCE' PROBLEM

A discussion of God's attributes is directly related to a discussion about His existence. According to classical theism, God necessarily possesses a certain set of attributes, such as omniscience, omnipower and omnipresence. There is no doubt that God's omnipresence is a condition that needs to be discussed with regards to the relationship of Him with space. There is a direct connection between God's omnipresence and His being a non-material (spiritual) entity. As settling in a place means to be surrounded by that place, it is meaningless to associate God with a space. In that case, no space can be attributed to God as a being that transcends the universe (and a spiritual being) ; and it is inevitable that there is a fundamental ontological difference between the transcending God and the universe
