TÜRKİYE'DE EKONOMİK BÜYÜME VE İSTİHDAM İLİŞKİSİ

Dünya genelinde gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkelerin çözmesi gereken ekonomik ve toplumsal sorunların başında ekonomik büyümeyi sağlamak ve istihdamı arttırmak gelmektedir. Ancak, ekonomik büyümeye rağmen bunun istihdam oranlarına yansımaması veya göreceli olarak daha düşük oranlarda yansıması istihdam yaratmayan büyüme sorunu olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Son yıllarda yaşanan ekonomik krizler bir yandan büyümeyi olumsuz etkilerken diğer yandan istihdamın daha da daralması sorununa yol açmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye'de 2000 yılı sonrasında uygulanan ekonomi politikaları sonucunda ortaya çıkan ekonomik büyüme ve istihdam ilişkilerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla 2000:Q1-2015:Q4 dönemi esas alınarak zaman serisi nedensellik analizi yapılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda, kısa dönemde ekonomik büyüme ve istihdam arasında çift yönlü, uzun dönemde istihdamdan ekonomik büyümeye doğru tek yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

THE RELATIONSHIP OF ECONOMIC GROWTH AND EMPLOYMENT IN TURKEY

The foremost economic problem worldwide that the developed and developing countries should solve is to enable economic growth and to increase employment. However, when there is an economic growth if it does not reflect or reflects in low rates on employment, it becomes a problem called "the economic growth that does not generate employment". The economic crises in recent while affecting the economic growth negatively, it also caused the problem of shrinking in employment.In this study, to test the relationship between growth and employment, the period of 2000:Q1-2015:Q4 is analyzed by the time series causality analyses methods. Results of the study shows that while in the short run there is two way causality relationships between variables, in the long run there is a causality from employment rate to growth rate.
