Streptococcus pyogenes'te eritromisin direnci: 2009-2013

Çocukluk çağı hastalıklarının en sık görülenlerinden biri Streptococcus pyogenes farenjitidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, 01.01.2009-31.12.2013 yılları arasında çocuk hastaların boğaz sürüntü örneklerinden izole edilen S.pyogeneste eritromisin direnç oranlarını retrospektif olarak değerlendirmektir. Suşlar konvansiyonel yöntemler ile izole ve identifiye edilmiştir. Antibiyotik duyarlılık testi Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institude önerilerine göre disk difüzyon yöntemi ile yapılmıştır. Beş sene zaman sürecinde 12,597 boğaz kültürü örneği incelenmiş ve 1,159 (% 9.2) S.pyogenes üremesi saptanmıştır. Bu suşlarda, eritromisin direnç oranları yıllara göre sırasıyla 2009 yılında % 2.8 (n=5/174), 2010 yılında % 3.4 (n=7/202), 2011 yılında % 2.8 (n=8/276), 2012 yılında % 5.1 (n=9/176) ve 2013 yılında % 3.6 (n=12/331) olarak bulunmuştur.

Erythromycin Resistance in Streptococcus pyogenes : 2009-2013

Streptococcus pyogenes pharyngitis is a common childhood disease. The aim of this retrospective study is to evaluate proportion of macrolide resistance among pharyngeal isolates of S.pyogenes from pediatric patients between 01.01.2009 and 31.12.2013. The strains were isolated and identified by conventional methods. The antibiotic susceptibility testing was perfor- med by disc diffusion according to Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institude standards. We studied 12,597 throat cultures and were isolated 1,159 (9.2 %) S.pyogenes in five years. In these isolates, erythromycin resistance rates over the years were found as 2.8 % (5 out of 174 strains) in 2009, 3.4 % (7 out of 202 strains) in 2010, 2.8 % (8 out of 276 strains) in 2011, 5.1 % (9 out of 176 strains) in 2012 and 3.6 % (12 out of 331 strains) in 2013 respectively.
