On üç aylık bir süt çocuğunda bronkopnömoniye neden olan yeni bir rinovirüs: Rhinovirus-C

Son çalışmalarda Rhinovirus-C; bronşiolit, tekrarlayan wheezing ve astım alevlenmesiyle ilişkilendirilmiş ve iki yaş altı çocuklarda hastaneye yatmayı gerektiren infeksiyonlarda önemli bir patojen olduğu gösterilmiştir. Bu makalede solunum sıkıntısı, öksürük, ateş şikayeti ile başvuran ve nazal sürüntüsünde Rhinovirus-C saptanan on üç aylık bir olgu, sıklığı giderek artan ve 2 yaş altı çocuklarda da görülebilen Rhinovirus-C infeksiyonunu vurgulamak için sunulmuştur.

In the recent studies Rhinovirus-C has been associated with bronchiolitis, recurrent wheezing, exacerbation of asthma. It has been showed that this virus is getting importance in the infections of < 2 years old children which require hospitalization. In this paper a case of 13 month old child hospitalized for respiratory distress, cough and fever was presented to take attention to Rhinovirus-C infections in children younger than 2 age.
