Tlos’tan Yeni Yazıtlar

Bu çalışmada, Tlos’ta 2018 yılı kazı sezonunda yapılan arkeolojik çalışmalar neticesinde gün yüzüneçıkartılan epigrafik malzemeler tanıtılacaktır. Prof. Dr. Taner Korkut başkanlığında yürütülen kazı çalışmalarının 2018 yılı kazı sezonunda; antik kentin akropolünü doğudan kuşatan sur duvarının önündekimoloz yığını temizlenmiştir. Bu moloz yığınının temizlenmesiyle sur duvarında devşirme malzeme olarakkullanılan iki yeni onurlandırma yazıtı açığa çıkartılmıştır. Bu çalışmada tanıtılan yazıtlardan ilki, kentiiçin pek çok kamusal görevi üstlenen ve bunun için kendi servetinden cömertçe harcamalar yapanTeimanthes için kaleme alınmıştır. Danışma ve halk meclislerinin birlikte onurlandırdığı Teimanthes, sadece vatanı için faydalı işler yapmakla kalmamış aynı zamanda Lykia Birliği için de önemli işler gerçekleştirmiştir. Zira yazıttan onun birlik tarafından taçlandırılmış olduğu öğrenilmektedir. İkinci onurlandırma yazıtı ise Tediassa için taşa kazınmıştır. Tlosluların Halk Meclisi’nin onurlandırdığı Tediassa’nınkent için ne yaptığı iki satırdan oluşan yazıttan maalesef anlaşılamamaktadır. Bu makalede ayrıca mirashukukuna da değinilmektedir.

New Inscriptions from Tlos

In this article the epigraphic material unearthed in archaeological work undertaken in 2018 at Tlos is presented. In the 2018 campaign of the archaeological works headed by Prof. Taner Korkut, the pile of debris in front of the fortification wall surrounding the acropolis of the city on its east was removed and consequently two new honorific inscriptions employed as spolia in the wall have been found. The first is for Teimanthes, who undertook many public services and spent generously from his own pocket for his homeland. Teimanthes was honoured by both the council (boule) and by the people, not only accomplished good deeds for his homeland, but also fulfilled important tasks for the Lycian League, since the inscription mentions that he was crowned by the League. The second is the honorary inscription for Tediassa. The inscription consists of only two lines and it cannot be deduced from it what Tediassa honoured by the people (demos) did for his city. This article also addresses the law of inheritance.
