ARAÇ İÇİ TRAFİK KAZASI KAYNAKLI ÖLÜM OLGULARINDA TRAVMATİK BULGULAR İLE ARAÇ İÇİ LOKALİZASYON VE KAZA TİPİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ; RETROSPEKTİF OTOPSİ ÇALIŞMASI
Amaç:Araç içi konumun önemli oldu- ğu adli olguların çözümüne vetrafik kazalarının neden oldu- ğu kayıplara yönelik önlemlerekatkı sağlayacağı düşüncesin- den hareketle bu çalışma plan- lanmıştır. Yöntemler: Adli Tıp Kurumu BaşkanlığıMorg İhtisas Dairesine Eylül2007 - Nisan 2008 dönemindeotopsi yapılmak üzere gön- derilen; trafik kazasına bağlı444 ölüm olgusu içinden araçdışı trafik kazası, motosikletkazası, yurt dışından gelen vebilgilerine ulaşılamayan trafikkazası olguları ayrılmış, olaylailgili gerekli bilgilere ulaşıla- bilen toplam 150 araç içi tra- fik kazası sonucu ölüm olgusuretrospektif olarak değerlendi- rilmiştir.
EVALUATION OF RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ACCIDENT TYPES, LOCALIZATION OF OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE AND INJURY PATTERN IN FATALITIES RESULTING FROM ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT: RETROSPECTIVE AUTOPSY STUDY
Objective: In order to contribute to the effortstargeted to decrease the casual- ties of road traffic accidents, weplanned this retrospective studyand by this way intended to providethe wound patterns of these fatali- ties. Methods: There were total 444 fatalities re- sulting from road traffic accidentsamong the autopsy population ofCouncil of Forensic Medicine, Mor- tuary Division between September2007 and April 2008. The accidentsinvolving the pedestrian and thecases having little or no informa- tion about the incident were ex- cluded and remaining 150 fatalitieswere retrospectively evaluated. Results: Of the cases, 83% (n:125) weremale and 17% (n:25) female andfemale/ male ratio was 1/5. Roadtraffic accidents were detected tobe an important cause of death inyoung adults in both genders. Mostcases were detected to be in the21-30 age groups in both genders.Victims were the drivers in 60.7%of the cases and automobile wasthe most frequently engaged vehi- cle in fatal accidents. 63% of theaccidents were frontal collisionsand the most common site of theincident was motorway. Bloodanalysis for alcohol yielded thepresence of alcohol in 20.9% (n:19)of the driver (n:91) and in 16 driver(17.6%) the blood alcohol level ex- ceeded the official level permitted(50mg/dl). The 21-30 age groupwhich is the most crowded groupwas also the leading age group foralcohol presence. Head traumaand thoraco-abdominal injurieswere detected to be most impor- tant injuries in both genders inthese fatalities. Conclusion: In order to accurately define thesites of passengers in the car willdefinitely require the examinationof the death scene and gatheringof all the information from wit- nesses and technical staff by fo- rensic doctor.
