Emotional Intelligence As a Key Competence of a Teache

This article analyzes emotional intelligence as a key competence of teacher. It is noted that this problem is extremely important and relevant in the modern environment, where social changes often occur. The article considers emotional intelligence as a necessary component of pedagogical activity. The main components of emotional intelligence, their functions and how they affect professional and personal qualities are given. The features of the teacher's activity and the significance of its emotional component are considered. The article analyzes the features of the influence of emotional intelligence on the development of professional and personal qualities of teacher. The necessity of developing emotional intelligence in the professional activity of teacher in the process of education is proved.
