Dünyada günümüze kadar be ş milyondan fazla çocuk yard ı mcı üreme teknolojisi ile do ğ mu ştur.

Over a five million children have been born with assisted conception worldwide. It is important to follow up these children and assess whether they have elevated health risks compared with naturally conceived children. In recent years there have been a lot of studies investigating assisted reproductive technology. This review will summarize the consequences of health in children born with assisted reproductive technology, encompassing neonatal outcomes, birth defects and long term outcomes. Most of the children conceived after assisted reproductive technology are normal. However, there is growing evidence that these children are at higher risk of health problem. These risks are mostly due to the high frequency of the prematurity, multiple pregnancies and low birthweight. Therefore, it is recommended that single embryo should be transferred during assisted reproductive technology.
