The seroprevalence of canine listeriosis in Street dogs in Van region

The study was made to investigate prevalence of Listeria spp in clinically healthy Street dogs in Van region. Blood samples from 90 dogs were evaluated by Standard Tube Agglutination Test STAT for Listeria monocytogenes antibody. From 90 sera, 36 sera 40% were positive. Of these, 23 25,55% sera in dilutions of 1/320, 10 11,11% sera in dilutions of 1/640 and 3 3,33% sera in dilutions of 1/1280 were seropositive, but it was found 54 60% sera as seronegative. As a result, listeriosis was found in a high prevalence in dogs in Van region It is though that more detailed serologic studies for listeriosis which is also zoonosis in other animals will be hepfull to make more effective challange strategy
